Lukas Brandt trained as an electrician in Minneapolis, working a decade in commercial and high-end residential before relocating to Sioux Falls in 2015. Northline Electric opened the following year — a deliberate decision to build a contractor focused on documentation, code compliance, and the kind of install that an engineer would specify if they were doing the work themselves.

Lukas holds his master electrician license under SD #ME-3217 and is a contributor to a Code Making Panel for the National Electrical Code — the standards body that writes the NEC the rest of the industry follows. That's not marketing language. It's a real credential, and it means the codebook Northline references for every job is one Lukas has helped shape.

The business is run with operations partner Dana Voss. Seven licensed electricians on staff. The shop sits on N Sycamore Avenue. The phone is answered during business hours; the emergency line is answered 24/7 for power-out events. No call center, no franchise model.

Northline doesn't sell service contracts, doesn't dispatch unlicensed apprentices on standalone work, and doesn't quote without seeing the job. The work is residential rewires, panel upgrades, EV chargers, generators, commercial fit-outs, and smart-home rough-in. Every install is permit-pulled and inspected. Every install ships with an as-built circuit directory.
